Our Impact
LAF's impact extends far into the world, influencing our program participants and all those they touch through their work. LAF strengthens individuals and the landscape architecture discipline by:

Annual Reports
Our "By the Numbers" annual reports offer a snapshot of significant activities and accomplishments. In 2023, we expanded our programmatic offerings and added new resources. Highlights include:
- $505,000 given out through our signature programs
- Launch of the new LAF Ignite multi-year program for BIPOC students
- 146 Founding Donors to LAF’s Ignite and Fuel Campaign
- $160,000 in scholarships awarded to 27 students
- 1,000+ LAF Olmsted Scholars named since the program's inception in 2008

Our Programs

Student Scholarships
LAF offers over $150,000 annually through 16 different scholarships that reward performance, support access and diversity, and assist with need.
LAF Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership
This $25,000 fellowship empowers working professionals to advance an idea that will bring about impactful change and drive the future of the discipline.
Case Study Investigation (CSI)
This unique research collaboration pairs academic teams and designers to assess and document the benefits of exemplary landscape projects.
LAF Ignite
This multi-year program for BIPOC landscape architecture students provides an annual $10,000 scholarship, paid summer internship, and access to mentors.
Olmsted Scholars Program
With its $25,000 graduate and $15,000 undergraduate prize, this is the premier leadership award program for landscape architecture students.
LAF Research Grant in Honor of Deb Mitchell
This annual $25,000 grant opportunity funds research projects relevant to the professional practice of landscape architecture.
